Worm Ilidan

I 'm always in a search for new "techs" for my Monarchs, so i came up with this one. He is a one tribute monster with quite the effect. He gains counters with card sets and then he removes two and blows one card. I think that hedoesn't need to be in a Worm deck to play, he's quite a nice monster actually... he could be even mained in monarchs in the place of some mobius or sth...

tell me your opinion on this one plz

Well it's kind of...slow. And with 2000 ATK it is kind of easily surpasable in battle. The primary goal in monarchs isn't to set monsters but to use your summon to bring monarchs, right?

I would prefer Magical Marrionette or Ancient Gear Beast to this guy. The first might not destrot s/t cards but it is more flexible imho. Look at Helpoemer, and Teva too. All of those pale in comparison with monarch decks which prefer using Monarchs, Jinzo, Prime Material Dragon (rarely) and Vanity Fiend.

With nowaday's speed this would get it's effect 0 to 1 times. That's the monarch speed so imho monarch wins.

Except if you're thinking of a worm monarch deck if it's possible :P

I think that the effect also means Spells and Traps. So, you summon him, set two cards in the Spell and Trap Zone and you blow one card of your oppponent

Panagiotis is right on this one. Spell/Traps count as Set cards. But still is is sloooooow. Prefer Sin's suggestions.

Pardon, just noticed he doesn't mention monster anywhere! Still, setting your cards would mean

a)using both of them (to have the field clear for Treeborn), thus overextending

b)just setting them which is something monarchs are not known of ;P

Also, if you want to use his effect again, you have to set another two cards meaning that in two turns you used all of your hand to get his effect off twice.

you can set your spells before activate them, and the counters go Up...
A deck that runs a lot of cards for backrow could really use him

Yea but monarchs...nah its really to slow for it, monarchs are used to be a fast deck for sending cards from field elsewhere
