Ancient gear golem

Ancient gear golem is a very powerful monster with high attack stat. When it attacks it blocks traps and spells. I beleive that this card is underestimated. When there are decks that run monsters that need 2 tributes and cannot be SS like LaDD, I think that there should be a position for golem. What do you think abou this one?

IMO not really. LaDD is used bc it makes you opponent have to have like a -4 to get rid of him, and he has nice attack, AND he brings something back when he dies. In monarchs that works great bc you'll probably have a monarch waiting to be revived. There's not much of a reason to tech Golem in monarchs over ladd and not many other decks have 2 tribute monsters

I think though that his piercing effect would be a killer for decks that run low level monsters and a lot of tokens. He could be a nice choice for the side deck and the opponent would never expect to see this monster...

He's a nice card. But Ladd is broken compared to him. The advantage Harper mentioned and the number of ways to remove him are the reasons nobody runs it.

You know of Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon, right? He's trading piercing for being able to be special summoned.
I won't mention the rest of the effects because most of the times you won't tribute gadgets.

If you modify the classic Frognarch deck that runs Ladd and maybe add more Ronintoadins and lessen on Monarchs, you get a fun deck that can get this guy out (I have a certain build to summon Obelisk). But compared to Ladd just might not be worth it.

edit: the things you will attack will most probably be a ryko, a face-down frog, a snowman-eater... :P

i compared him with LaDD beacuse he is the most commonly used 2-tribute monster, not beacuse i believe him to be better than LaDD. And the stuff that will be attacked may be tokens from Dandylion, or tokens in general,or even card that were "booked of moon" or Enemy controlled. P :P If it is Ryko, yes it is a problem, but it's not Ryko the only card that will be set in a duel. He has many drawbacks but the fact that he negates everything during his attack makes him very "attractive" to me... I'll try him outand tell you what i think after that :
